Day 44: National Treasure Book of Secrets

Oh man was this one a real special treat! These National Treasure movies are pure joy, they really tap into the basic human pleasure centers. And this time we brought our buddy Ed Harris back from The Rock to co-star in another Brukheimer action flick!! It has been 10 years since Cage and Harris shared the screen, and not be superficial, but it seems like Cage has barely aged while Ed Harris took some time hits. It also could be that I am barely noticing Cage aging because I am only watching Nic Cage movies – sort of like when you get a new puppy and everyone else can see how big they’ve gotten except for you. Cage is like my new puppy!! Aaaaaand now I know what to name my next dog!

Speaking of my dog, I watched this movie with by buddy CN again, who I watched The Boy in Blue with all the way back in week 2. She also happens to be the person that I lost a bet to and had to give my dog her first and last name. I really owed CN a good Cage experience. There aren’t many people that would agree to watch a snore fest as bad as The Boy in Blue with me, so I made sure to time the week perfectly so that we could see Book of Secrets together, and it sure came through!! Shout out CN and CiRo for your commitment to Cage- they have watched The Croods and The Rock on their own time as well, so they are really following their ABCs (always be Caging)!!

We had two great Cage flip outs in this one also, which you know I love:

EPIC CAGE FLIP OUT TALLY: 48

I can’t wait for National Treasure 3 – there better fucking be a 3rd one or I’ll have a little hissy fit!!

Next up is Bangkok Dangerous! Oooooo!!
