Uuuuuuuuugh this movie was an awful. I just wanted it to end the minute it started. The teenage girl was so awful I couldn’t handle it. The film could have maybe, just maybe, been salvaged if it weren’t for that fucking teenage girl!
This plot line was so Hollywooded out it was crazy. Cage plays an OCD, agoraphobe who is also…… drum roll….. a con man! Oooooooooo, fascinating!! And despite his mental health problems, he’s one of the best con men out there, or Matchstick Men. Get it? Like the title of the movie? Nailed it, Hollywood! But here’s the catch, he finds out he has a teenage daughter, and then things really get craaaaazy. Only they don’t, it actually just gets really fucking annoying because that TEENAGE GIRL IS THE WORST. But in the end (spoiler alert) turns out Cage’s big con was actually a con on him allllll along. And the teenage girl was in on it!! MIND BLOWN?!?! Nope, just super annoying and awful.
But we did get one amazing Cage flip out, so it’s all worth it!
