Day 10: Time to Kill

Well this was a rare and weird and boring find! I had to drive all the way to scarecrow video at 9pm just to rent this snoozefest. I brought the movie to the cashier, with Cage on the cover, and the girl working the register shook her head at me and said “Still working through’em, huh?” That made the whole trip worth it for me!

When I saw that I was going to get to watch a rare dramatic Cage war movie titled “Time to Kill” I was stoked! As some of you may know, I’m really looking forward to the Cage action movies. I was ready for some brutal fight scenes, I didn’t expect the title to be meant in the expression form, as in, these boring assholes had some time to kill. This was not action filled, gory, or even exciting at all. It was, however, totally weird and disturbing!

The film takes place in the 1930’s at the war when Italy invaded Ethiopia. Cage plays an Italian soldier, and some of the actors speak with Italian accents and some don’t. Cage was speaking Cage, like he do.

The movie starts with a pretty uncomfortable Cage rape scene, and then it doesn’t get better from there. To be honest, I was in and out of consciousness for most of this movie and was still able to follow along with the “story”. We did get one great flip out, which I happened to be awake for!

I’m sick!!!!

CAGE FLIP OUT TALLY: 15

There was one scene where Cage feeds a cigarette to a lizard, which I did enjoy and I got a great photos of it.

We are finally into the double digits!! 60 days to go, and considering the fact that I have done two double feature weeks we may end up making it 68 days of Cage with some Cage cameos on the side!

Tonight I will be watching Fire Birds. I’ve heard good things, bring it on!!!
