Preparing for the Cage

I am officially at the 5 day countdown to entering the Cage. I have spent the last couple of weeks getting my hands on The Works of Cage (TWC) and reviewing the list of films headed my way. Based on the list in the viewing schedule, here is my prediction for how this experience is going to be:

80’s films – Sort of up and down, there will be awesome movies like Raising Arizona, and not so awesome movies like Peggy Sue Got Married. There are several movies I haven’t even heard of from this era too, so we will see what the Cage has in store!

90’s films – This seems to be the time when shit gets weird, like Vampire’s Kiss and Wild at Heart weird. I can’t decide if this is good, ironically good, or “the joke’s on me” bad.

00’s films – Most feedback from my peers is that this is going to be rough stuff, and yes, a lot of these movies are complete garbage, but I am actually looking forward to seeing The Rock, Face/Off, and Con Air back to back! This is my Cage wheelhouse!

10’s films – This part of the journey is going to be BRUTAL. Like punch me in the face and stab my eyes out brutal. When discussing this with Alexa the conversation went like this – ME: We are really going to be limping across the finish line. ALEXA: More like dragging ourselves across the finish line with one arm because both of our legs have been shot off.

These are just my predictions though, so I could be way off. What if TWC has a different experience for me altogether? What if Cage action movies really aren’t as amazing as I remember them? There is no way of knowing how these movies will be perceived when main-streaming them one after the other, after the other, after the other.

T-minus 5 days to Cage. Brace yourselves…
