Halfway There, Livin on a Prayer!

I figured this was a good time to check in now that we are at the halfway mark. I feel like it’s flying by, but when I tell my friends that I am only halfway through their response has been “holy shit, you’re only through half of these?!?!”

I figured that I would be so over it by now, especially considering the time commitment that has gone into this. I have calculated how many minutes of Cage movies I have watched, and it comes down to this:

Total 3,762

You guys, I have watched 3,762 minutes of Nicolas Cage movies. That works out to 62.7 hours. Which is just over two and a half days. I’ve taken 7 weeks to watch 35 Nicolas Cage movies, but all this time I could have knocked it out in a few days?!? If only I didn’t have this whole adult life schedule, and not to mention the old sleep thing human beings have to do. But realistically, if I really wanted to, I could take a full week and do nothing but watch Cage movies and sleep, and I would be in the same place I am now 7 weeks later. So all in all, this really isn’t that bad!

By examining the chart below you can see how much I have enjoyed each movie. The red line represents whether or not I actually liked the movie itself, and the blue line represents how much I enjoyed Cage in the movie.

Cage chart 2

As you can see, the series of action movies was a solid week in Cage, but it is quickly ruined by a horrible experience known as City of Angles. Without a doubt, that one has been the worst for me, in large part due to the amount of Meg Ryan’s face that I had to endure.

Other than fucking Meg Ryan and a few boring movies the good ones have really outweighed the bad, and I’ve gotta admit that I have really grown a fondness for Cage! When this first started out I came into it joking around that this was going to be a lot of really terrible movies and bad acting, but it seems like I have been proven wrong. While Cage does have his repeat acting moves (talking quietly then screaming one word loudly, epic flip outs, sentimental moments staring off into nothingness), there has been way more versatility than I expected. It’s official, I am a Nicolas Cage fan. I guess you would kind of have to be to do something this insane…

Well we have another 7 weeks of movies to go, or 2.5ish days if I feel like marathoning! Can’t stop, won’t stop! Viva La Cage!!!!!
