I am a big fan of action movies.
I was intending to watch The Rock, Con Air, and Face Off all in a row tonight, but unfortunately jetlag is still very much in effect from my Ireland trip so I was only able to get through The Rock. In a way I’m glad though, because now I get to savor the the sweet sweet glory of all of this cheeseball bullshit that I love so much.
THE ROCK! I have seen this movie more times than I can count, so I went into it ready for all of my favorite rageful moments and all of my favorite awesome moments. Let’s start with the rage, and it really only comes down to one character: Nic Cage’s fucking girlfriend. You know when you meet someone and you just instantly hate them for no good reason? Well that’s how I feel about that character. I just don’t like the cut of her jib. That’s why this sex scene between the two is just GOD AWFUL:
“Do you like my pigtails?” NO. NO ONE LIKES YOUR FUCKING PIGTAILS. GROSS.

I have no idea what Michael Bay looks like, but when I’ve always pictured him he seems to manifest as a character from Miami Vice. When someone I was chatting about The Rock with mentioned that Michael Bay is one of the three people in Hollywood he would most like to kill, I decided to look him up. I don’t think I was that far off in my assumption!
